AI receptionist for solar installers · live demo

You’re on the roof. Your phone’s ringing. Who answers?

An AI receptionist picks up your calls and website chats, checks the postcode and books the survey into your calendar, while you get on with the install. Try it yourself.

A phone ringing unanswered on a solar panel while an installer's gloved hands work a drillAn empty installer's office: a desk phone, a busy job whiteboard and the van pulling away outside

The problem

Your next customer calls while you’re on someone else’s roof.

Homeowners enquire when it suits them, and that’s usually when you’re on site. An example day for a small installer:

  1. A call while you're on a roof Missed

Both hands on a panel. It goes to voicemail, and the homeowner rings the next installer on their list.

  2. A website chat Missed

Nobody's at the desk. The question sits unanswered until you get back in the evening.

  3. A call during a home survey Missed

You can't stop mid-survey to pick up. Another missed call.

  4. An enquiry form after work Missed

You ring back the next morning. They've already booked a survey with someone else.

With an AI receptionist

Same day. Every enquiry answered.

The receptionist follows your rules: your coverage, your approved answers, your calendar. Anything that needs a professional is passed to you, not guessed.

  1. Answered, qualified, booked Handled

The receptionist checks the postcode, asks a few questions and books a survey into a real free slot.

  2. Chat answered straight away Handled

A battery-only question is recorded for you, with the homeowner's details, instead of guessed.

  3. Wants to speak to a person Handled

A callback request is saved for your team, with what the caller needs.

  4. A tenant, not the owner Handled

Offered an owner-authorisation callback and flagged for review, not silently rejected.

Asked about roof suitability

What you can ask about

  • Solar panels

Rooftop solar PV for homes. The receptionist records your interest and property details; system design stays with the installer.

  • Battery storage

A home battery, with or without existing panels. Compatibility is assessed by the installer, not the receptionist.

  • Solar and battery

Panels and a battery together. The receptionist collects what an installer needs before a survey.

How the mock survey booking works

  1. Say what you're interested in

Solar panels, a battery, both, or just a question. Use the test postcode shown on this page.

  2. Answer a few quick questions

Whether you own the property, what type of home it is, anything already installed, and your timing. One question at a time.

  3. Pick a real available time

The receptionist reads live availability from a test calendar: weekdays 9am to 5pm, at least 24 hours ahead, within the next 14 days.

  4. Confirm, then it books

It reads the details back and books only after you confirm. It tells you the survey is booked only once the calendar reports the event exists.

What the receptionist will and won’t answer

It sticks to approved answers. Anything that needs a professional assessment is recorded for an installer instead of guessed.

“What will it cost?”
A quote depends on an assessment and the system chosen. The receptionist never gives a price.
“Can I have a battery without new panels?”
It records battery-only interest. An installer would assess compatibility and suitability.
“How much will I save?”
A personalised estimate needs property, system and usage information, so it is left to the installer.
“Is my roof suitable?”
It records the question for an installer and does not try to diagnose it.
“Do you offer grants or finance?”
No such product is configured for this demo. A live receptionist would use only the installer's approved, current information.
“Are you MCS certified?”
This is a fictional demo business with no accreditation, and the receptionist says so.
“Can I speak to someone?”
It saves a callback request and explains that the demo has no live installation team.

For solar installers

What this demo shows

An AI receptionist answers a solar installer’s website chats and calls, collects the homeowner’s details and books survey appointments using the installer’s own rules. Technical assessment and pricing stay with the installer.

  • Checks the postcode against your coverage before anything else
  • Asks one question at a time and keeps what the homeowner already said
  • Offers real free times from your calendar and confirms only once the event exists
  • Cannot double-book a slot, even if two people choose it at once
  • Saves a structured lead record, with tenants, unsure answers and out-of-area enquiries flagged for review
  • Saves a callback request whenever someone wants a person

Questions about the receptionist

What is an AI receptionist for solar installers?

It answers a solar installer's website chats and, once set up, phone calls. It asks homeowners a few qualifying questions one at a time, checks the postcode against the installer's coverage, and books survey appointments into the installer's calendar using the installer's own rules. Technical assessment, system design and pricing stay with the installer.

Does the receptionist give quotes, savings estimates or roof assessments?

No. It explains that a quote or savings estimate depends on an assessment of the property, system and energy use, and it records roof or suitability questions for the installer to answer. It does not invent prices, savings, grant eligibility or installation dates.

How does it book a survey without double-booking?

It reads live availability, offers two or three real times, and reads the chosen time back for confirmation. At the moment of booking it rechecks and reserves the slot so two people cannot take it, and it only confirms once the calendar reports the event was created. A repeated request returns the existing booking instead of creating a second one.

What happens if the homeowner rents, is outside the area or wants to speak to a person?

Nothing is silently rejected. An out-of-area postcode is explained and can be saved for review. A tenant is offered an owner-authorisation callback rather than a confirmed survey. Anyone who asks for a person gets a callback request saved for the team.

Can it answer phone calls as well as website chat?

Yes, but telephone answering is configured and tested separately for each installer before it goes live. This demo uses chat and voice in the browser.

What does the installer receive after each enquiry?

A structured lead record: contact details, postcode, interest, ownership, property type, existing equipment, timeframe, coverage result, qualification status, booking status with the calendar event, any callback request, and a short factual summary with unanswered questions.

Is Aizer Solar Demo a real solar company?

No. Aizer Solar Demo is a fictional business built by Aizer Design Studio to demonstrate the receptionist. It does not install solar, holds no accreditation, and no installer will visit. Bookings made here are test bookings only.

What does an installer need to provide for a pilot?

Their service area, approved answers to common questions, booking rules, access to the calendar the surveys go into, and a supported CRM. The receptionist is configured with those rules and reviewed closely during the first weeks.
